Thomas Frederick Viere

In a hybrid space between design and craft is Tommy's lair. The essence of my abilities and sensitivities as a material artisan is tempered through educational backgrounds in architecture and metalsmithing. With a diverse knowledge of fabrication and construction I continually strive to better understand material crafts and their interface with architecture and design.

Ambitions of fabrication, function, and design consume material considerations. Challenging materials and processes can influence engineered designs, massaging our intimacy and perception of objects. Such efforts constantly demand extended conceptual and technical proficiencies, which are continually calibrated to affect craft and sensory responses toward materials. I am both chivalrous to the material and a gentleman to the process.

In the future I will strive to refine my depth of material knowledge and develop a practice utilizing a network of diverse and radically similar professionals engaging in craft and design.
