Chances are you'll never hear this music on the radio. You may not even understand what you're listening to. However, Thinkbox has collaborated on a compilation of experimental electronic audio works that displays how familiar, ever day sounds can be manipulated with modern music technology and digital effects to produce warm listening textures and ambient soundscapes. Join Thinkbox and friends for a night of unique experimental digital video and sound.

Since the Thinkbox self-curating media collective started sharing ideas in 1997 they have involved themselves and the Windsor/Detroit art and electronic music community with their vision of producing experimental music, which sounds unfamiliar and unique to any listener. With such influences as record labels as M-nus, 12k, Mille Plateaux, City Centre Offices, Scape, Raster Noton, and many more, each Thinkbox member has developed a unique sound and style for themselves. They have held regular events at Milk, The Press Club, Lift Lounge, Artcite, as well as other Djing and media events in the Windsor, Detroit, and Toronto areas to share their creativity with others.

The Thinkbox collective consists of Windsorites Mark Laliberte, Christopher Bissonnette, Christopher McNamara, Steven Roy, and Ypsilanti Michigan's Bill Van Loo. Rob Theakston, also from Ypsilanti Michigan and local electronic music community veteran, is involved in regular collaboration with the collective and will be assisting with promotions and distribution for future events and media releases.

Settings is the first group compilation by Thinkbox and is the starting point to a new series of releases. Other Thinkbox CD releases and online mp3 releases can be heard and purchased at www.thinkbox.ca. New mp3 releases as well as sounds and photos which were captured at Thinkbox events will be posted to the new website January 17, 2003.
