[back to Ideas For Sitting]

Christopher Puzio
"I want to give people an otherworldly experience, a 'startled awareness' of experience - design should do that. This is the real reason why I became interested in architecture. My attitude towards design is continually inspired by influences in science, art and culture, as well as new technologies for fabrication and construction. I throw a lot of things into the mix, and try to create total environments, gesamtkunstwerk and sensory explosions."

- Christopher Puzio

Christopher Puzio was born in Paterson, New Jersey in 1971, where he apprenticed in his father's architectural firm. His love of modernism grew from that formative experience, as well as his exploration of the surrounding suburban landscapes and New York City. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Boston Architectural Center in 1996, and a Master of Architecture from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2002.
