Ideas For Sitting This exhibition presents 14 ideas for sitting in which the "chair" has been given a fresh treatment. The artists have used the idea of sitting as a springboard for explorations into style, utility, humor, ritual, material, status, etc. Perhaps the only thread that joins them is that they are simply objects to sit on. Representing students of the Cranbrook Academy of Art, this exhibition shows a desire to acknowledge and challenge the schools tradition while presenting possibilities for new directions into the 21st Century.
