[back to events page]	Literary Humor Website Haypenny.com Celebrates First Year Online October 5, 2002 Doors: 8:00 PM Cover $3.00 for Haypenny.com members Cover $4.00 for all others In celebration of the first anniversary of Haypenny.com, the editors of the popular, Detroit-based, literary humor website are pleased to announce a show and party to be held on October 5, 2002 at the detroit contemporary, located at 5141 Rosa Parks Boulevard in Detroit. In just one year, by featuring original content every weekday, the site has grown to become one of the top online journals in the burgeoning community of wit ezines. The event will feature readings by several authors featured on the site, including David Barringer, Claire Zulkey, Darci Ratliff, John Freeman, Steve Delahoyde and Peter Kelleher. In addition, there will be live comedy sketches, short films and music provided by local favorites Havilland and Bill Parker and His Motherscratchers. The night will be hosted by comedian Jesse Popp, who has made a name for himself as one of the top Detroit-area comics and will be featured on this season of Comedy Central's Premium Blend. Doors will open at 8pm and the event will commence at 9pm. Admission is $4 or $3 for those who are on the Haypenny mailing list. Guests may sign up for the mailing list at the door.
